ABC News Live will debut new hours of weekday programming on Monday, with Kayna Whitworth anchoring from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. ET.
Her show will be the rare national newscast based in Los Angeles, in what the network is billing as an “outside the Beltway” focus on politics for the 2024 election cycle. She also will lead in to its flagship program, Prime with Linsey Davis.
ABC News Live launched in 2018, as all the broadcast networks now have their own streaming news services, with CBS News Streaming and NBC News Now also offering a lineup of original programming.
Other ABC News Now programming is anchored by Kyra Phillips and Diane Macedo.
NBC News Now launched an L.A.-based newscast, Stay Tuned Now, hosted by Gadi Schwartz, in March.
