Nusrat Jahan names son: Actor-MP Nusrat Jahan gave birth to a baby boy last month. There were enough speculations regarding who the father of the child was. However, the confusion seems to be coming to an end now. Kolkata Municipal corporation document clearly stated the newborn baby’s name and his father.
According to the birth certificate of Nusrat Jahan’s son, he has been named Yishaan J Dasgupta. Debashish Dasgupta, the official name of actor Yash Dasgupta has been mentioned as the name of the baby’s father. Jahan and Dasgupta were rumoured to be dating. When the news of the actor-MP’s pregnancy started doing rounds on the internet, she was subjected to immense trolling.
There were tensions between her and her former husband Nikhil Jain too. In June this year, the actor revealed that her marriage to Jain was not legal, valid and tenable in India. The couple tied the knot in Turkey in 2019 according to the Turkish Marriage Law. Jahan said in a statement that such a marriage was invalid in India. Jain said that he and Jahan had been living separately for six months. So, there was no chance of the child being his.
Earlier, the AsurÂ actor had refused to reveal the name of her baby’s father. When she was asked about it at a press conference, she had said that it was very easy to put a black spot on the character of the person by asking vague questions as to who the father of the child is.
Jahan was admitted to Neotia Hospital in Kolkata on Aug 25. It was Yash Dasgupta who drove her for her delivery. On Aug 26, she gave birth to a healthy baby boy. Dasgupta later confirmed that both Jahan and her baby were doing well.
Who is Nusrat Jahan?
Jahan was born to Muhammed Shah Jahan and Sushma Khatun in 1990, in Kolkata. The actor holds a bachelor’s degree in commerce. She made her silver screen debut with the 2011 film Shotru, starring actor Jeet in the lead. She has worked ever since in many Bengali films like Har Har Byomkesh,Â Power, Kelor Kirti, Zulfiqar and Asur. In 2020 she starred alongside Yash Dasgupta for the first in the film SOS Kolkata.
In 2019, Jahan married businessman Nikhil Jain in Turkey. The same year she contested from Basirhat constituency in the Lok Sabha elections on a Trinamool Congress party ticket. She defeated Bharatiya Janata Party candidate Sayantan Basu by a huge margin.
