Emerging Actor, Writer and Director Raj Harkal has won four National level Awards in Indian Cine Short film Festival in the categories of Best Director, Best Story, Best Jury Mention and Best promising Filmmaker. He has also nominated for three more National level Awards by Indian Film House.
Raj has achieved all this at the age of just 20 years. Apart from being an Actor, Writer and Director, Raj also has his own Production house and Music company which are Megabytes Productions and Megabytes Music. His Father Sarangdhar Harkal and Mother Anita Harkal have a huge hand in Raj’s success.
Raj’s childhood and Education took place in Sambhajinagar, Maharashtra. Interest in Films has brought Raj to this level today. He is the grandson of National Awardee Shobha Trimbak Kardel. While in school, Raj was very interested in Art, But his passion for art came when he joined the art circle in his college and that was the time when the artist in him was triggered.
After completing his graduation in Bachelors of Business Administration, Raj reached Mumbai to shape his art. After coming to Mumbai, Raj also obtained a Diploma degree from Anupam Kher’s acting school. Hardworking Artists like Aniruddha Bhange, Akshayy Khedkar, Kunal Gujare, Neeraj Gadhwe and Anushka Lakhpati Joined the team which was the main support systems for Raj. In Mumbai, Raj also got the support from a well known Casting Director Abhishek Arora. It was not easy for Raj because he was not from the film background but he struggled and achieved all the things he deserved.
In conversation with us, Raj also told that, “ This awards was not possible without my Family and my Team but this is just the beginning, my next target now is Bollywood and I will definitely make it big. He also told that, “Not only I will work in Bollywood but will be the reason of revolution in Bollywood industry”.
Raj has set a great example for upcoming Actors, Writers and Directors which are struggling for their dreams.
