Scanbox Entertainment has finalized a restructuring of its senior management team with a series of internal promotions alongside a new hire.
Merete Martensen Christensen has taken over from Kim William Beich as acting Chief Operations Officer (COO). Beich will continue at the company as Head of Acquisitions and Special Projects. Christensen will also retain her role as Head of Theatrical in Scandinavia and as local Head of Theatrical in Denmark. Christensen has been part of the management group since 2014 and originally joined Scanbox back in 2011.
Elsewhere, Per Bergholdt Knudsen has joined Scanbox in the newly created Director of Sales & Acquisition Manager. He will work closely with Torben Thorup Jørgensen, Chief Commercial Officer (CCO), taking over sales duties and joining the acquisitions team at Scanbox Entertainment. Knudsen is a senior sales and acquisitions executive who started as a film buyer in TV2’s acquisition department and worked there for five years, buying movies and series for all TV2’s channels. Following that, Per joined Nordisk Film in 2011, where he has been selling movies and series to TV stations and streamers across Scandinavia.
The final shuffle in the management lineup sees Rasmus Truelsen, a longstanding Scanbox employee and former Marketing Manager for Denmark, promoted to Nordic Marketing Manager.
“Scanbox is entering its most significant change in the last decade, and with that, there are some great challenges ahead. We aim to find the best team in order to reach our goals and growth,” said Thor Sigurjonsson, CEO of Scanbox Entertainment. “With the new changes of internal team and hiring Per we believe we are in a great place to move forward on those challenges.“
Scanbox Entertainment’s slate of upcoming theatrical releases includes international films such as Celine Song’s Past Lives and Civil War from A24, Back To Black from Studio Canal, and Hit Man from AGC Studios. Upcoming local films include Rome by Niclas Bendixen, Kalak by Isabella Eklöf, and The Movie Teller by Lone Scherfig.
